Benaki Phytopathological Institute (BPI)
Established in 1929, Benaki Phytopathological Institute was the first Greek research institute to have a broad scientific basis in plant health and plant protection. Since then, the Institute has earned itself a reputation as a guardian of quality, safety and sustainable development in agriculture. Those of us working here today are mindful of this legacy and remain committed to the highest standards of respect for the environment and human health, thereby supporting the wider economy and civil society of Greece.

Kelaiditis Farm
The company KELAIDITIS was founded in 2011 by Georgios Kelaiditis, Antonis Kelaiditis, Nikolaos Kelaiditis and Christos Dangoulas, who for a number of years had worked in various sectors of pig farming (management, production, marketing). The purpose of the company is the breeding of pigs and the sale of meat.
To achieve this goal, they leased a piggery unit with a capacity of 700 sows, with the potential to produce approximately 20,000 pigs per year. In this unit, they installed a biological cleaning system, renovated the facilities where necessary and the production levels exceeded Greek data, approaching European standards. The company bought trucks, which are necessary for the production process and staffed its operations units with specialized staff and other technical staff.
As the company reached the upper limits of its production, they leased a second pig breeding unit, which was renovated in order to increase its production. In order to serve its needs, it has purchased an integrated information system (Softone) with the main emphasis on the management of the Financial Department and the Commercial Department.

Αγγελάκης, Βιομηχανική και Πτηνοτροφική Α.Ε.
The company AGGELAKIS S.A. having now completed 60 years of successful career in the poultry industry, remains faithful to the same values and principles that Nikolaos and Panagiota Angelaki had when they created, in 1962, a small family business in Chalkida. Today, with vision, dedication, passion and consistency, this business has evolved into a vertically integrated chicken production unit, based in Pournos Evia, which directly offers more than 200 jobs and indirectly hundreds more jobs in the supply chain, and is a stable pillar of development for the local and national economy.
The reins of the business have now been taken over by the new generation of the Aggelaki family, Thanos and Taxiarchis, continuing unchanged the philosophy of the traditional family business and systematically investing in the research and development of innovative products that fully respond to modern nutritional trends and needs. The constant pursuit of the company over the years is to provide safe products of top quality and nutritional value, in Greece and abroad, always with respect for humans, the environment and animals.
Focusing on the principles of sustainable development and the circular economy, AGGELAKIS implements a series of actions to reduce its carbon footprint, with the aim of becoming, within a decade, a carbon-neutral poultry company. At the same time, it works closely with the academic and scientific community of the country, supporting initiatives and practices that contribute to the protection of the environment and the adoption of new, more environmentally friendly technologies.
